RASR

The Robotics & Automation for Soil Resilience (RASR) project aims to transform soil health management. Soil is vital for food production, carbon storage, and water retention, but faces global degradation. RASR is developing an affordable, autonomous robotic platform to automate soil sampling and analysis, improving soil health, productivity, and sustainability.

As a core partner, listt.io focuses on:

  • Sensor Integration: Integrating sensors to measure soil health, helping farmers boost resilience and optimise productivity.

  • On-farm Testing: Leading platform testing across diverse farms to ensure adaptability.

  • Customer Interfaces: Creating user-friendly interfaces for farmers to access soil data and make informed decisions.

The RASR consortium includes Satellite Applications Catapult, Harper Adams, E-Nano, and Autodiscovery, each contributing expertise to enhance soil health monitoring.

Machine vision

listt.io uses machine vision technology to analyse different plant species in fields. This helps farms make informed decisions about plant and soil health while protecting key species.

  • Machine vision technology: advanced systems assess plant composition accurately.

  • Versatile platform integration: from small Agile-X robots to larger
    farm-ng platforms and even ATVs

  • Decision support: Collected data helps farmers make strategic decisions on plant care and soil management, boosting productivity and protecting biodiversity.

  • Counting applications: Machine vision can count individual plants, such as baby leaf salad, aiding precise harvest planning and resource allocation.

farm-ng

Along with Gentle Farming, we imported the first farm-ng Amiga in the UK, expanding its functionality to meet the needs of Gentle Farming’s new developments for regenerative farming practices. This project enhanced the platform’s farming capabilities through custom software and tool integration.

  • Custom software development: We’ve developed bespoke software to integrate new tools specifically for seed establishment and mowing, ensuring the system could handle these tasks with precision. The software is tailored to optimise intervals for inter-row cropping, enhancing the platform's effectiveness.

  • Application Development: Our team created custom applications that allow users to configure and control the new functionalities seamlessly. This enables farmers to better manage their workflows and adopt
farm-ng for a variety of farming tasks.
